Go deeper

Interesting perspective about a seed I heard today. It must be put to death and crushed under pressure to then let out roots which then face resistance. Ever feel like everything is going against you? When will my breakthrough come, when will the fruit be visible.. This week we reiterated patiently waiting and how to do that successful, not loosing hope, believing in the unseen. Holding on to faith.

I say let those roots grow deep, because the deeper the roots the better the water source and the nutrients and there is where great treasures are found, in those dark moments; those hard to breath moments. When we push through to find the living water in our dark situation we find nourishment for our souls. No wind or bird will pull out these roots for they go to deep places.

When we don’t go through that process we easily are filled with water source “on top”. Things that are easily accessible, where we don’t have to dig deeper and find more resistance for the true source. Perhaps that is a sermon vs reading your Bible, or having someone pray for you vs your private prayer time of intimacy. There is nothing wrong with sermons and friends’ prayers, that’s very much needed but it cannot substitute your efforts. In the drought, in the heat of moments, where is your source, what fills you and will it last?

When life circumstances crush us, when we start to deteriorate from within and crucify those fleshly attributes, God is working with us. When it hurts and you don’t understand why, God is transforming that heart. Any incision is painful and takes recovery. You have to learn to live without something previously attached to you. You don’t have to live with anger or doubt of selfishness.

Christ took it all and sanctifies us daily. Through the process of sanctification we get to a place of emptiness. Empty only to be filled with Him and His purposes for our lives. That hard heart of a shell needs to be broken for all that God given design and potential to come out and create growth.

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. 1Corinthians 2:9-10

Oh boy, if you asked me if I needed sanctifying I would of said no way. But the loving Lord saw past the hypocrisy, and was ready to work on me. I’m so glad He’s saving me daily, breaking away at the hard heart places in my life. He is saving me from my thoughts, my sins, attitudes and various attacks. He always provides a way out, a place of rest, recovery and the opportunity to go deeper in His presence through it all.

Push through, go deeper, be open, be available, learn and hold on to the water source. God’s timing not yours. He is creating something beautiful but it is a process of a lifetime.

Cheer up, eternity is ahead.
