8 months… 8 months!!! How in the world did that happen? I know it sounds cliché but it happened in the blink of an eye. Motherhood continues to be a gift that fills me with more joy and sense of reward than I could have ever dreamed.
Their total dependency on myself and my husband for all of their needs has stretched me to have that same relationship with my Heavenly Father more than ever before. James 4:8 tells us that if we draw close to God, He will draw close to us in return. I can’t imagine not having that dynamic and source of strength in my life. I often hear Him whisper to me in everyday motherhood moments.
It’s a gentle reminder to know He is near in the little things.
Just yesterday I was holding Gareth and encouraging him to look out the window at the beautiful day. He was so focused on window pane divider that he never noticed the sun, the trees or the car driving by. The Holy Spirit gently reminded me that I so often do this with obstacles in my life. If I could just look beyond my current circumstances and see the plans the Father has for me.
Jeremiah 29:11 – a verse we so often say as a feel good verse. But it’s so true. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I needed reminded of that… and maybe you do too. Don’t get caught up on your window pane divider; the obstacle that overcomes your ability to look to God’s good plans for your life! I can almost see him pointing, just as I was pointing to my son, and saying “Look! Look at this I have for you, and that!“. We have such a good, good Father. Thankful for His gentle reminder in the midst of every day mom life.
Now for an unapologetic slew of pictures from our photo session with Todd G Photography. Local friends in the Central Pennsylvania region — I can’t recommend him enough. He’s a genuine good guy – down to earth- loves the heart of people – type of guy. I’ve known him for what seems like forever. He’s got a heart made to worship and loves the Lord with all his heart. I’m honored to know him and his beautiful family. Not to mention he was able to get these GREAT pictures with two teething babies. Enough said!
